At Kids.ONE, children come first. To this end, we have been involved with the Child Protection Association at the cbs locations in Heidelberg, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Munich, Freiburg, Bautzen, Leipzig, Berlin, and Rüsselsheim since 2017. With Kids.ONE, we want to complement our commitment to supporting the next generation and fulfill our social responsibility.

Corporate Social Responsibilty - cbs Consulting

The Child Protection Association is a non-profit organization active at over 430 locations nationwide. As Germany’s largest and oldest child protection organization, the association is committed to providing practical support to children locally and to improving the political situation of children and families in Germany. Currently, over 15,000 volunteers and 7,000 full-time staff are involved in the Child Protection Association.

cbs Christmas donation campaigns

The principle is simple. We will start collecting donations in December. All donations received from employees and business partners by January 31 will be doubled by the company at the end of the campaign. The company will initially donate a total of €10,000. The entire amount raised will be used to support current projects run by the DKSB local and regional associations in Heidelberg, Dortmund, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Bautzen, and Raunheim.

Which projects do we want to support?

The local branches of the Child Protection Association at our company locations can finance a wide range of projects thanks to our donations. You can get a brief insight into the projects in each city here.

Heidelberg

At the Child Protection Association in Bautzen, donations will go towards the project "Family Weekend – Leave Everyday Life Behind." Socially disadvantaged families are invited to enjoy a carefree weekend of games, sports, conversations, cooking together, and other activities. The activities are organized and carried out by volunteer members. Materials such as food, games, and sports equipment are financed by donations.

The Child Protection Association in Munich would like to use the donation to train volunteers who work at the children's and youth helpline. Children and young people can call this helpline to talk about their problems, and the volunteers try to help them solve these problems. During the 80-hour training course, the volunteers are prepared by psychologists and social education workers for relevant topics such as puberty, relationships and love, and physical violence.

In Dortmund, the Child Protection Association provides children of mentally ill parents with a mentor. These volunteers lend an ear to the children's concerns and needs and enable them to enjoy carefree and unburdened experiences. This year, they would like to invest the cbs donation in training the mentors.

Last year, we reported on the children's and family center, whose construction and maintenance were partly financed by our donations. This year, donations will again go to this facility. Even during the pandemic, it continued to offer help and support to parents and children in need. Children's food and clothing were distributed. In addition, a midwife offers health consultations to ensure the health care of the mothers and babies living there.

Since almost no children's groups could take place last year, the DKSB Stuttgart has expanded its individual services for children and young people in separation situations. Instead of being cared for in groups, the children are now looked after individually and supported with their questions and problems. Here, too, the majority of the donation goes toward training and further education for employees.

In Freiburg, the Child Protection Association offers supervised visitation. This allows children whose parents live apart to meet with the parent they do not live with and a neutral third party. Donations are also used to train staff and maintain the rooms that are rented specifically for supervised visitation.
