Since his early years in the industry, Rainer Wittwen has been on a mission to link IT- and SAP-related subjects with broader business topics. He actually began by assembling and optimizing inventory management systems for his parents’ small company as a teenager.
During his business studies at Justus-Liebig-Universität in Gießen, Germany, Wittwen concentrated in particular on controlling in international settings and information systems management. In 1998, his budding career then took him to cbs, where he initially focused on controlling in the context of corporate consulting. Wittwen began gaining experience in project management at an early stage and went on to combine it with in-depth technical expertise in a variety of SAP modules. He was responsible for both new SAP implementations and modifications of existing SAP system landscapes, including everything from small and midsize projects to programs involving multiple undertakings in parallel. In this role, he made key contributions to the development and optimization of cbs’s methodology for managing specific types of projects.
These days, Wittwen continues to leverage his extensive experience in helping to set customer projects on the right track early on and supporting clients through the cbs project steering committee. He has been a member of the company’s executive board since 2010 and oversees its strategic efforts in landscape transformation.
Rainer Wittwen is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys jogging, hiking, and skiing in the great outdoors.
