Having worked in the SAP support environment for the past three years, I have always been interested in trying out in a consulting role. Looking through the job advertisement, the cbs Graduate Programme seems like a perfect opportunity, with its tailored training programme and on-the-job training.

Apart from understanding how the entire SAP landscape interacts, feedback from our mentors, seniors, and other colleagues was valuable. It was not just about the knowledge building but also the importance of soft-skill we acquired along the way. For me, judging multiple datelines and interacting with customers was critical to building a successful career in SAP consulting.

Working as a consultant can be stressful as you might have multiple project deadlines. Whilst that can be true, it has also been a fun six months as our mentors were so helpful throughout the entire programme. Even when they are swamped, our mentors manage to squeeze you into their busy schedules to help with questions, issues and tasks. It was a lot of fun as it is easy to reach out for help or talk to anyone since cbs has a relatively flat hierarchy.

Before joining cbs in this programme, I wanted to get hands-on experience of the inner workings of a consulting firm. Additionally, I hope to get the opportunity to work in a challenging and dynamic environment as SAP is everchanging. After my six months programme, I hope to get certified professionally and work my way up to a subject matter expert, subsequently gaining experience in project management.

With cbs, I felt that it provided me with a platform to explore various opportunities and career development. If anyone is interested in joining the cbs Graduate Programme, this programme is designed as a fast-tracked career pathway or accelerator program for specific industries with SAP consulting practices.
