Stefan Risse

Managing Director

Area of Responsibility

Stefan Risse has long been interested in databases, processes, and production logistics. In 1997, he earned a Diplom degree in information systems management in Essen and Paderborn, Germany. Upon landing his first job as an application consultant at the farm machinery manufacturer Claas in Harsewinkel, he managed to get a taste of the SAP R/2 software generation around two decades after its initial release.

Since coming to cbs in 2001, Risse has been involved in customer projects all over the world, as well as in establishing the company’s global trade services. He now oversees both globalization consulting and SAP HANA activities at cbs. Risse has also served on the company’s executive board since 2014. To this day, the interesting everyday challenges, tremendous creative freedom, and the chance to develop modest consulting services into new business areas are key reasons why he continues to enjoy his job.

Outside of work, Risse likes skiing and riding his mountain bike, and also has a passion for hunting. On weekends, he can sometimes be found on his own hunting grounds, which are right outside his door in Bonacker (Sauerland, western Germany). Risse has also been a fan of German soccer team Borussia Mönchengladbach since Berti Vogts, Jupp Heynckes, and Allan Simonsen helped the “Foals” win five Bundesliga titles in the 1970s.

Stefan Risse is married and has two children.
