From PMO to Data Migration
Ainur Umairah Abdul Hakim is 26 years old and originally joined cbs in 2022 as a member of the PMO (Project Management Office) — without knowing that this would be the place where she’d discover her professional path. What ultimately convinced her to stay was the opportunity to dive into the SAP world and grow step by step. The variety of topics and the prospect of building a long-term career as a consultant excited her from the very beginning. Her time in the PMO was an important starting point. There, she learned how to support projects in a structured way, manage expectations clearly, and communicate effectively with different stakeholders — skills that now help her every day in her role within System Landscape Transformation (SLT).
Growing Through International Collaboration
After switching roles, she quickly realized how much she enjoyed working with data and the structures behind it — especially during her first SLT project, which opened the door to data migration. Today, Ainur works at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office, supporting international clients with complex migration projects. She is particularly proud of a project with a Japanese customer, where she cleaned data in Japanese — a task that required precision and cultural sensitivity. Experiences like these have shaped her and shown her how diverse and enriching international collaboration can be.
Ainur has already worked with colleagues from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, India, and Germany. Collaborating with teams from different countries has given her a new perspective on various working styles and communication approaches. She especially appreciates the discipline, respect, and attention to detail found in many Asian cultures, and she has learned how important adaptability and openness are in a global environment.
Curiosity as a Driver for the Future
Her academic background plays an important role in this journey: Ainur holds a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Big Data Analytics. Originally, this wasn’t her first choice of study, but she consciously decided to try something numbers-based — a decision that turned out to be pivotal and perfectly aligned with her current work.
Outside of her professional life, Ainur is curious and open to new experiences. She enjoys going out with friends, discovering new cafés, and being on the move. Traveling and photography are among her biggest passions — and one day, she dreams of visiting Antarctica.
For the coming years, Ainur has set clear goals: she wants to further deepen her expertise in data migration and continue growing both professionally and personally. Large, complex projects motivate her the most — challenges that help her grow and constantly reignite her curiosity.
Her personal motto guides her every day:
