Whether it’s the integration of acquired companies (Carve-In) or the consolidation of internal SAP systems (Merge), integrating new parts into existing SAP landscapes is one of the most demanding tasks in enterprise transformation.
This strategically crucial step places special demands on planning and implementation due to limited resources, tight timeframes, and complex system landscapes. Different systems, releases, and data models must be merged into a common target image without jeopardizing business continuity.
Successful integration requires clear target architectures, thorough analyses, and forward-looking planning. cbs offers a holistic Merge and Carve-In approach that covers all project phases: from strategic consulting to technical implementation and compliant data migration. With software such as the cbs EA Enterprise Analyzer and the cbs ET Enterprise Transformer and deep SAP expertise, a fast, secure, and structured integration can be achieved. This enables the realization of synergies, effective risk control, and a stable transition.
We create transparency across systems, data, and processes. Using the cbs EA Enterprise Analyzer, we identify dependencies, inconsistencies, and harmonization potential. Based on this, a robust roadmap for integration is developed.
As part of defining a clear target architecture, we determine which systems will be consolidated, which data sets need to be retained or cleansed, and which add-ons must be considered. This ensures that only relevant elements are transferred to the target environment.
To capture synergies, we standardize core business processes and master data such as customers, suppliers, and materials. The focus is on consistency, completeness, and quality assurance, ensuring a stable and future-proof process model.
The implementation is carried out using the cbs Transformation Platform. With the help of automated migration tools and near-zero-downtime approaches, we safely consolidate data, systems, and processes—efficiently, audit-compliantly, and with minimal disruption to business operations.
We integrate new companies or systems into your IT environment quickly and efficiently. In addition to technical migration, we harmonize business processes, consolidate data consistently, and leverage synergies.
Thanks to precise planning and cbs’s near-zero downtime approach, your system remains virtually continuously available, even during complex integration projects. This ensures continuous process stability and avoids operational risks.
Our experts also seamlessly integrate non-SAP systems into your existing SAP landscape. Through standardized interfaces and proven migration methods, we ensure that all relevant data and processes are transferred consistently.
All legal, tax, and internal company requirements are incorporated into the planning process from the outset. This ensures that the integration proceeds according to plan and all applicable compliance requirements are met – both nationally and internationally.
Harmonized systems, processes and data form the basis for innovation, growth and cloud strategies.
Business continuity is guaranteed – even in complex integration projects.
Various systems can be seamlessly integrated and individually aligned to your target image.
Short project lead times and smooth integration enable synergies to be realized at an early stage.
Standardized methods and automated migration steps conserve internal resources and reduce project costs.
Every integration step is logged and documented in a traceable manner, creating a transparent and verifiable basis.

ArcelorMittal merged two independent accounting units into one on the same SAP system. To achieve this, one company code was retired and fully integrated into the remaining one. The complex merge included transferring all logistics and CO objects, including history, as well as specific objects from finance.
Schenck Process has five plants in North America. These were assigned to three company codes and three purchasing and sales organizations. The company wanted to bring the plants under one company code. They also wanted to harmonize around 1,300 duplicate customer records and 800 duplicate supplier records in the SAP system.
